Sublime
I decided to get new boots in preparation for walking the Anglesey coastal footpath in September. So we spent today in Hereford, a city I'd not visited before. First stop was a visit to the tiny Audley chapel within Hereford cathedral. The chapel contains four glorious stained glass windows by Thomas Denny. These were installed in 2007 and inspired by the writings of the 17th century poet and visionary Thomas Traherne. We went on to see other treasures - the Mappa Mundi and the chained library - but, for me, the highlight was these windows full of tiny details such as moths, beetles and even a dragonfly. I could have made a hundred blips but I've chosen the figure of a standing man, which I assume to be Thomas Traherne.
