Hedgerows Dance Lane

I guess I’ve settled for the Dance Lane walk if I only have a half an hour to spend.  I think it’s the bird song that has won me over, though the hedgerow is ever changing and I had thought I’d do a series of images that show when the various flowers are at their best.

It’s not without hazards as the road is narrow and though not excessively used some people come round the bends quite fast, so I need to take care.  Ideally I’d use my macro lens on my digital SLR, but this isn’t the place to set up a tripod.  Even a small one, so my images are taken on my phone or sometimes my Panasonic point and shoot.

I’d noticed that the yellow vetch was coming out, so for today’s Blip I chose to focus on yellow and the flowers are Mignonette Crosswort and Meadow Vetchling (I think) and in the first image a bud of what I think is Fox and Cubs - pilosella officinarum, which I first remember seeing at the side of a path, a third of the way up a mountain track, just outside Ketchican in Alaska. It’s now spreading out of control in my garden.  Big mistake to let it in, though it does add that certain touch of fiery red when in bud.

P.s and the large leaves are blackberry and nothing to do with the fox and cub plant.
