Old and New
The last of the tenements on Archibald Place, giving way to the glass and steel buildings of the Quartermile. It caught my eye as I walked down from the bus stop for early coffee with colleagues.
Coffee and meetings marked the day, plus reports of meetings taking place elsewhere. Later on, I was sent this link. Quite the watch.
A smooth trip north on the LNER train which was perfectly on time, and obviously not terribly busy. I mainly worked. I intended to read a novel, but never managed to get round to it. What with a bit of gazing out of the window into the evening light, the time passed quite quickly. Mr A collected me from Inverness and we were in the house before 9pm.
I arrived to find that a couple were clearing the weeds from the boundary walls on our street. This is part of a clean up that has been ongoing for a few days and certainly will make the town look better. Mr A was oblivious to it, as it was only advertised on FB, and he doesn't use FB.... I was doubly mortified, first that an elderly couple had cleared on the outside of the wall (which, to be honest, was not a big mess, but needed a little bit of work), and second, about the mess down where we park the car, which is probably beyond me to clear up, but maybe I will give it a go this weekend.
