The bridge is getting there...
In the floods of October 7th 2023 the bridge at Bailemor, which is on our main route to Dunoon and the ferries, got damaged beyond repair.
A temporary bridge was put in place after about two months but then successive dates set by Argyll & Bute Council for at the installation of a permanent replacement came and went without anything happening.
Eventually the old bridge was demolished at the end of last year and in April this year work finally started on the new one.
Today there was a crane on site, lifting ready made concrete supports across the stream on foundations that have been in preparation for some weeks. I am looking forward to driving on the proper road soon !
Apparently the work will be finished, and the temporary bridge removed, by the end of July.
