I’m dreaming …
We now have our annual, whole family, Christmas get together in May, June or July - including presents (Secret Santa), party hats and crackers.
This 1st happened because we had to shift it during lockdown (due to some people’s vulnerability and various members of the family testing positive for COVID).
However we realised that
1) it’s easier to get people together when everyone isn’t trying to be everywhere due to the competing family pressures of Christmas.
2) a BBQ and garden space is much easier than having to cram 25+ people inside one house because it’s cold at Christmas.
3) it’s great getting presents in the middle of the year and reduces the excessive outlay focused on December.
4) it works.
The children still have their Christmas on 25th December (obviously) - but a gift or two also appears for them on the Family Christmas Day.
This is a selection of photos from this year’s Family Christmas Day.
