Pageant

Our cat was very pleased to see us when we got back from holiday yesterday evening. He showed his delight repeatedly (and noisily) through the night as well - a much disturbed sleep ensued. Consequently I was up much earlier than I intended so went down and showed my face at the local pool and put in a pretty solid effort.

The rest of the day has been spent in typical post-holiday fashion - catching up with stuff, domestic bits and bobs, watching iPlayer with Aperol spritzes and snacks at aperitivo time, reading about REM in The Guardian.

The REM thing was all their albums ranked. I can't really argue with the number one choice but I was a huge fan in the mid to late eighties so, you know....
