... for the rain to stop. (It didn't, by the way). 
This is A., captain of the Vets* team. A and I share a surname, which sometimes causes confusion with people we play against, who imagine we are married or otherwise related, though in fact nothing of the kind & it's quite a common surname. A. is a fun captain and very fun to play tennis with, but tbh I didn't love standing around in the rain for 30 minutes while everyone decided, eventually, that it was raining too much to play. But it's part of what you do and so we did. Came home feeling very much as if I had actually played tennis. Rain continues.
