This drought has been a long one. A couple of rainy days does not make up for all those hot sunny dry days but even this initial dousing is inadequate. However, the seeds that T had scattered earlier in the spring have suddenly sprouted today. A welcome sight. Thatched cottages in the village look lovely but their roof maintenance is an increasing challenge due to the shortage of efficient thatchers. The drought has taken some of the pressure off pro tem.
