Grandad Stuff
This morning the girls wanted to take their bikes to school, as they often do. But on getting them ready I noticed Bella's rear tyre was totally flat.
So we walked to school but on my return home I got her bike up on the worktop in the kitchen.
It can be really difficult, on these small children's bikes, to get a rear wheel off. The plastic cover around the chain is such a pain but it has to be removed or you don't have room to get the chain off, and back on again of course.
The puncture was so tiny I couldn't see it but immersing the tube in a bowl of water showed up where the leak was. Very easy to repair, and with the plastic off it wasn't too difficult to get it all back together. However, the cheap pump I bought at Halfords is pretty useless, I think it has a faulty tube that fits into the pump and into the valve. So I have been using my 12V tyre pump to do the children's bikes, so much easier, and quicker, using the 'Cigarette Lighter' accessory on my motorbike which is very handy.
This photo was taken when I'd finished, it was only then I thought about a blip and, as it happens, it's the only photo taken today.
