London

My in-laws were all working today, so Mr P and I decided to take the train into London for the day.
The weather was rather grim so we dodged showers and spent the morning at the Courtauld Gallery (great gallery). We then met up with one of our nephews, who works in Threadneedle Street (next to the Bank of England) and treated him to lunch.
It cleared up in the afternoon, so we climbed up The Monument (I had no idea you could do this) and then walked back along the South Bank to Waterloo for the train back to Claygate.
We ate and drank far too much in the evening and then after watching Spain beat
France in the Nations League, we watched a French film (La Haine).
