Harald Fairhair, viking king.

The most interesting museum I visited in Norway was the Digital Viking Museum, Haugesund, and, although anti-violence, I did find the history of the Vikings interesting. It was impossible to overlook the  romantic "history" of Harald Fairhair. He wooed a princess, Gyda, who told him he had to unite Norway before she would look at him, so swore he would not cut or comb his hair until he had done so.

This is from the book Guts and Glory by Ben Thompson.

I admit it's written for children, but it's OK for me!
