Rosa

Rosa glauca to be precise!
It seemed sad to leave the Rosa glauca in the 'yard in Wooler when we moved, but there was no way we could transport it to our present abode. Not long before we left, I noticed that a couple of roses had self-seeded in another container on the other side of the 'yard. Little more than twigs, it was impossible to tell what sort they might be, but I transplanted them into a small pot and we brought them with us. Turns out that they were both Rosa glauca, and in this garden they're both thriving - no flowers on this plant last year, but look at it now. Beautiful! The flowers are ephemeral, but the foliage is nice and, hopefully, in the autumn there will be dark red rose hips.
