CARNATION OR DIANTHUS??
Busy morning. First thing we had the boiler serviced, it only took him about 40 minuttes so that's it done or another year.
Then joy of joys it was a trip to the Dentist and Hygienist. Of course we have no NHS Dentists anywhere near us now so I've had to join my old practice but as a private patient.
The Dentist took all of 10 minutes and then the Hygienist took about 30 minutes. Apparently I have a bit of gum disease. It comes down to brushing too hard in some places and not enough in others and not using the floss correctly (being too gentle with it). Also I'm not to eat fruit unless it's part of my meal, no snacking!!!
It seems I have 4 choices:
1. Do nothing (and it will get worse)
2 Pay £15 for a tube of special toothpaste which she can strangely enough, order for me
3. Have another hygiene appointment in 3 months time, but that will not be covered in my DenPlan so will cost me another £68
4. Have another hygiene appointment in 6 months, but it could get worse in that time!!
All in all it seems they want me to spend a lot more money!!!! I was told that they wanted to go private because they couldn't provide the level of service they wanted to via the NHS system!!! Well to me it has always appeared that basically they want to make even more money they already get!!! I know, I'm being cynical, but that is how it is right now.
Anyway I've gone for the next appointment in 3 months time, then I can still have my DenPlan one another 3 months after that. I refuse to spend £15 for a tube of toothpaste - that would be OK if it was a one off but not every time I need a new tube!!!
Now this flower is on our balcony. It has the stem of a carnation but bloom of pink - but it is red. So I'm not sure whether it's a carnation or some sort of dianthus - anyway it's part of the Carnation family so that's good enough really.
That's all from me for now - do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
