Long drive
Finished the final bits of packing this morning and we were on our way just a few minutes later than the planned 11am. We’ve packed the lightweight awning in the hopes that the forecast string winds don’t come to anything.
A lovely bowl of soup at Bruar before a bump journey along the road to Spean Bridge from Dalwhinnie saw us arrive in Firt William around 3.30. Picked up bread and some Diet Coke for Mr PHL and jet Phin have a comfort break and we were soon back on the road. Weather was alternately grey or chucking it down.
Arrived on our campsite in very heavy rain but it did lessen quickly so Phin could enjoy a run on the beach whilst Mr PHL got the caravan sited and sorted out the water etc.
A wee bit of a rush to get things squared away before our friends arrived from their campsite bringing a rather delicious mushroom and spinach lasagne with them. A good chance to catch up whilst the lasagne cooked but we were quite circumspect (for once) and they headed off just after 10.
Backblipped Friday for Wednesday.
