River of Flowers

Friday: Untidy Lawn OR …

Wildlife Habitat and Larder?

Up at 6am but I had slept all night and woke up refreshed :-)

Breezy and not very warm all day but ideal for gardening, MrD was on deliveries.

Our garden birds are still nesting, Dunnock, Bluetit and Sparrows are all nesting in the hedge and flying out onto our grass and flowers (SEE EXTRA) foraging for greenfly, grubs and any other food for their partner and chicks - I’d seen Sparrow chicks sitting in a row on a branch waiting for parents to deliver food. Couple of blackbirds around searching for earthworms and finding them in our lawns. I’m still watching in hope of seeing the wild orchids, like last year - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3251294802087512941

and 2023 - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3119748337578804871

Today’s Blip is of a few more plants which I’ve added to the new bit of garden I started a few days ago - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3376272273135636110 - today’s additions are  Evening Primrose, Anthemis punctata and Mexican daisy (Erigeron karvinskianus) - no sign yet of the seeds sown earlier in the week.
