Grumpy Old Man

A dullish start to the day but I'd decided to walk down to the Corran Halls to plant three Primula vialii which were flowering and which I'd grown from seed. I thought they might look good in the little bed beside the Hall where I, under the guise of Keep Oban Beautiful, had put out a number of plants.

First I had a chat on the phone with my brother and then set off, just a 15-20 minute walk, with my bag of plants and a trowel. I'd forgotten that this weekend was the Oban Mod, a local version of the National Mod, a showpiece of Gaelic culture. There were hordes of kids rushing about on the grass and lots of Mums standing around where I wanted to be, but it didn't take long to plant them and I set off home again. I hope that nobody steals them - they do look rather beautiful!

On the way back I came across something new - a guitar-playing diver standing above someone's garage. Maybe this could be a competition - invent a name for him or his band! My extra today is of the gate into the garden - rather unusual and not very accessible!

After lunch the sun came out and I did some gardening - weeding and potting. There was a bit of a wind blowing, but later on I made a cuppa and sat outside with a book - very relaxing!
