The Crown Hotel, Stamford

Today we set out on our adventure to The North stopping this afternoon for the night at The Crown Hotel, Stamford,  Before going to the hotel, we looked at Ketton where I lived with my aunt for some months,twice in the early 1960s , when my my mother was ill.  The house where she once lived is still there although the lane has changed.  The pub in the village now looks closed and the primary school that I attended has been rebuilt.
The Crown Hotel ,was beautiful and very central in this charming town where my mother and her siblings were born.  Pictured is the hotel courtyard with one of the many churches just behind.
