'Resilience'

I went to our local hospital for a short outpatient visit this afternoon.

While "The Western" is a place of great care and healing, where they can do quite miraculous things, I tend to have rather ambiguous feelings about hospitals.

On the one hand, this hospital is associated with great joy—both my children were born there (well over 40 years ago now). However, on the other hand, in recent years, I have been visiting it more frequently for myself—another perk of getting older, I suppose!

My visits also serve as a wake-up call for me to take care of myself as much as possible!

On my way out, I noticed this little patch of poppies and the attached sign—part of a broader nature-based wellbeing initiative at the hospital.

Full of significance at several levels, I thought!
