Flower Friday
We came home the pretty way from my hair appointment, but a different one from Monday's escapade to Linlithgow.
By way of a drive through the Murieston and Harburn areas, we went exploring an exit from the Oakbank Roundabout to a car park at Oakbank Park Woods. I wasn't really dressed for a country walk and the track covered in railway ballast was unsympathetic to open-toed sandals but I saw enough to tempt a revisit, with the flowers in the collage. Thanks once again to BikerBear for hosting Flower Friday.
Top left, the dog rose, was actually near the hairdresser's, as was the cow parsley (Anthriscus sylvestris) with a red-tailed bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius), top right. A deeper-pink variety of dog rose was seen away off the track at Oakbank. Bottom left is the yellow flower of silverweed (Argentina anserina) growing by the grassy paths and, by the parking area, guelder rose (Viburnum opulus), bottom right. I saw a lovely sweep of speedwell but took no photo.
From here we followed our usual route home.
