Life through the lens...

Southern Marsh orchid.

I hope I have got the name correct.
After a wet morning it turned into a warm sunny afternoon and so made our walk round Cromwell Bottom, Brighouse, Yorkshire very enjoyable.
It has certainly grown up since we were last there in March.
Two highlights were seeing a weasel playing along the path in front of us, and a tree creeper. No chance of photos of either, but I was hoping to find an orchid for Flower Friday, and found a group near the old disused canal. So a great result.

It is such a delightful place. Very quiet. We did meet one or two dog walkers who seemed to be oblivious of their surroundings and more concerned with walking the dog.
Back along the tow path did manage to avoid the several cyclists who crept up behind us. Only one sounded his bell.
However we mainly had the place to ourselves.

A very enjoyable afternoon and the sun shone all the time, and is still shining this evening.

Fingers crossed for a good weather weekend.
