One Last Bouquet to Art

It's still been a pretty low energy day although we did make it to the grocery store after coffee. We are lucky to have a really wonderful grocery store which buys as much produce as it can locally and has a really good selection of both organic and conventional produce. They have their own kitchen and make lots of prepared dishes in addition to a great cheese section and a good deli with house made salads and butcher and fish counters as well. Oh, and freshly baked bread from several local bakeries.

By the time we made our way through all the aisles, loaded our cart, unloaded it at the check out, loaded it into the car unloaded it and brought it into the house and put it all away we both needed a sit-down. John provided the necessary brawn since I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy.

I recovered enough to attempt my own version of some of the arrangements that inspired with things from our garden plus some sunflowers I bought at the store. Sunflowers have a mind of their own and are difficult enough to arrange that it is still a work in progress, but everything seems to be taking a lot longer just now. I decided to post one last arrangement from the museum show.

I described the whole thing and showed some pictures to my neighbor who is a painter, and she was not very impressed, but maybe she was just put off by my description of how hard it was to get there. Or maybe you just had to be there. This last arrangement was definitely a show stopper. The painting is at least six feet tall.

Even though most days are the same for us, I'm still glad it's the weekend. Some things never change....
