Canola fields just outside New Norcia a Town around 132km from Perth (70km from where we live here on the coast)
We spent a lovely day in New Norcia today, the only monastic town in Australia.
In 1847 the Benedictine Mission that came from Italy, laid the first foundation stone of the Monastery, the place was named New Norcia after Norcia in Italy the birthplace of St Benedict.
The Benedictine Monks continue to live here and reside in the Monastery and are in involved with most of the enterprises in the town.

We have just watched the Kiwis thrash the Wallabies in the first round of the Bledisloe Cup! the next two games are played in New Zealand so the chances are looking grim for the Aussies to win the cup! i couldn't bear to watch the end of this game!

(Sorry to steer from the Challenge Topic today, I had nothing for the Topic) this blip is the first sign of Spring!
