By jiminy - despite the rain and the wind, the cricket season appears to have started.
This is a young bush cricket, still someway from being an adult. If you ignore the legs and those preposterous antennae, the nymph is only a bit bigger than a fat greenfly, measuring perhaps 3mm long at most.
They make quite a challenging subject for a macro shot. Although they are quite easy to approach (they won't generally jump if you move reasonably slowly) those antennae never stop moving and are rarely in the same plane of focus as the rest of the cricket.
