Stormy Day

The forecast was for thunderstorms and heavy rain so after walking Merlin I went to the allotment - the worst of the weather wasn’t due until late this afternoon. I erected the low fruit cage for the potted blueberries and gooseberries (see extra). It was more tricky and time consuming than I expected. Then I created a large square container using some plastic tiles that used to be part of a compost bin and which had been abandoned. I plan to turn this container into a hot bed.

By the time I returned home at 3pm the sky was getting dark. We quickly walked Merlin in the meadow and got soaked but were relieved to get home before the torrential rain and thunder and lightning.

Andy made more strawberry sponges for dessert tonight. It felt like a good evening for them.

My blip shows the rambling rose on my plot at the allotment.
