On patrol

I was crossing the bridge on my way back from the market when I heard a loud honking and was almost buzzed by a low-flying Canada goose, heading towards the swing bridge. Followed closely by another one who shot out from under the bridge at a similar pace. Much honking. Then the cause appeared; the male swan, evidently seeing them off. Here he's continuing down the Water to check that they've really left.

There was a bad fire last night in the banana flats - no one hurt fortunately. But I'm amazed that I didn't hear the ruckus.
