Four years in the making
Today was the West Linton Farmer's Market Whipman edition (Whipman is an annual week-long gala festival with all that entails and the riding of the marches etc).
The market usually moves to the lower green to coincidence with the ride out, due to the forecast rain, we moved in to the main marquee which was a good shout.
When I got home, I made up some new stock and replenished the car for tomorrow (Biggar Corn Exchange). Then, it was time to clean out two bedrooms and the rest of the house ready for my sister and niece who are arriving tomorrow.
It was a long day, Im absolutely shattered but everything is now as in order as it will ever be. Looking forward to seeing them when I get home tomorrow evening - its been 18 months so we'll have plenty to catch up on.
I bought this poppy at a plant sale in West Linton at least four years ago, not once in all that time has it had a single bud. I was mighty surprised yesterday when a flower appeared, and even more so this morning when a second one was there too. So new the seed pod is still stuck to the petals. What a beauty, worth the wait.
