Glitch Cam?

Could this be the first sign of a failing sensor in my new old digicam?

Only just got this FujiFilm MX-700 working after finally getting a new battery for it. Most photos today turned out ok, but this shit if a beach has gone all funky, and could be evidence of a sensor gone wrong.

More evidence will be collected tomorrow.

I upload one photo everyday using a vintage digital camera. Today's photo is taken with a Fujifilm MX-700 from 1998 with only 1.5 megapixels.
