Mama duck with her ducklings

When I was cycling back home after work I noticed a lot of ducklings swimming in the sea with their mothers, not far from land, all along the fjord. 
When I was walking from the bike shed to my front door I saw this cute little family hurrying along on the pavement, but instead of turning left down to the sea, they turned right and crossed the street? Looked like this duck was rather confused and lost, trying to get her ducklings to a safe place? I hope they'll be alright....
