Great blue heron and the red wing blackbird

Today was a sunny less smoke filled day. I got out for a walk in the morning and walked to the edge of the lake. I grabbed a few shots then turned and walk back up towards the path. I heard a loud noise and turned around and a great blue heron landed just where I had stood moments before. The red wing black bird started to attack the heron so it moved into the reeds. I walked back down to the rock and got a closer look at the heron. While I was on the rock on the other side of the reeds sat mama duck and her little ones. Hopefully they are all still safe.
