Life's tangled skein

Scottish Korean War Memorial

The "Forgotten War" in Korea ran from 1950 to 1953. Nearly 1,100 British service personnel died in the war, with more having their lives blighted by injury.

The Scottish Korean War Memorial commemorates those who died. It is in the Bathgate Hills, just south of Linlithgow, a Korean pagoda surrounded by native Scottish and Korean firs.

I passed it today as part of my regular Saturday morning run, and in spite of the wind and diving rain it was still a beautiful place to stop for a breather. There is a certain air of tranquility about the place, perfect for quiet reflection on what has passed.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
