Friday Perambulations
Across the road in the morning with my DeWalt pole chainsaw. Things over there needed attended to – things that if left would obscure the view of the breakwater from my bedroom window. Of course, if challenged I’m doing it for the greater good – there’s a bench over there that needs a harbour view and is heavily used by romantic couples. And loners, I should add.
Up to the ECA to take in the degree show – there’s so much in there that you’re bound to come across a few really interesting exhibits, and indeed we did.
And then to the Cameo to see The Ballad of Wallis Island, which is really quite entertaining and romantic in a very minor somehow British way, with some very good performances – Carey Mulligan, I mean. And you know, at the end there was spontaneous applause. Somehow that seemed right. Are we all in need of some loveliness and escapism?
