Sunday Swimmers

After a Sunday morning lay-in and leisurely breakfast we drove to nearby Kioni (Ithaca, Ionian Islands, Greece) for our first visit there this year. It's an upmarket harbour village with many expensive yachts moored to take advantage of the lovely shops and bars.

Whilst Mrs BB browsed the shops I took the aerial photograph showing mostly locals swimming in the crystal clear (or Sapphire Gin Colour my Greek friend says!) Ionian water. 

Not long after we drove past this spot to 'Cemetery Beach' in Kioni where we put up our own sunbeds under one of the Olive trees in the cove by the taverna.  A previous Blip here shows the cove and its cemetery! 

After a couple of hours we stopped at Frikes harbour on the way back for an iced coffee sat at the waters edge of a bar. Bliss!

We're off out to our local taverna in Stavros for a bite to eat and drink. It's been 30C so the beer will be welcome!
