LOQUAT or Japanese Plum

I recently read an article about this fruit,
that is well loved by folks in Southern California. I asked my friends if
they had tasted them & they both said these small gems are very delicious.

Since LOQUATS are very fragile, bruise easily & have a very short period of deliciousness, they are not often found in grocery stores.

I found these at the Farmers’ Market,
near my daughter’s house. The lady, who sold them said they came from her tree.
She told me when they are ready to eat & how.

They are described as tasting like a cross between an apricot, plum & melon. I think
I taste a juicy pear with a hint of honeydew melon. Juicy & delicious.

Small gems.
