Holy Moly Wells
In Co. Wexford with the inimitable Freespiral aka Amanda. (First extra from the back)
For an informative and inspiring series of talks and information sharing with the good people of Inch, Co Wexford.
She gave a talk about her holy well journey centring around Cork and her wider travels and gave us all a new word ‘peregrination’ (look it up); Gerard Branigan (a recognised expert); a local historian gave the history of holy wells and a lady from Wicklow talked about the local wells.
So en route home, I visited St Patrick’s Well (near Redcross) and tied a ribbon for Nadine around the tree (its red and from Avoca Stores - twas all I had in the car) and said a prayer for her. The well is beautifully maintained and the water crystal clear.
It has been a great day. The highlight being meeting Freespiral (she is a credit to herself)
I’m home now now after a busy weekend…. Skinny dipping with a bunch of wimmin on Saturday and seeking out the holy water today
You could say the Sacred and the Profane (in reverse)
Not long home. Haven’t looked at my phone all day. Had a swim and spent time in Wicklow and Wexford
Just prepared chicken in mushroom sauce and rice accompanied by some wine won on the timbola bottle stall a few weeks ago. It’s called Vignamatta (no me neither). Second extra
