Maybe/Maybe not?

Another relic of our time in J. G. Johnstone's.  You can't read that it says "M T E Watch turner".
Way back in the dawn of time (1930 to be honest) this came about:-
"In October 1930, Glycine released their first automatic watches using this module, which became the world's first widely-produced automatic watches."  All well and good, so long as you wore it. However if you were POSH and owned more than just an Automatic, as some do.
Brace for Story. Two in fact.
Tale 1. One of our regular Customers frequently bought watches; one day he bought TWO; he COULD well afford it - BUT - as he said once " I can get therapy for it; but it's cheaper buying the watches.  The day in question he bought, simultaneously, the cheapest and the dearest we had in.
Tale 2. A friend of mine, ex-retained Fireman, had a stroke.  His (Automatic)  watch kept stopping, so he brought it in.  My diagnosis?  Change wrists.  He was wearing it on the "Stricken" side; and, as a consequence it barely moved.  Next time he was in the Shop "It worked Brian."
My point (Title) Technically this is a bit of one-upmanship. Thus
"It was at the 1986 Basel Fair that Seiko unveiled its first Kinetic prototype. Introduced under the trial name of 'AGM', it was the first watch in the world to convert kinetic movement into electrical energy."  I can't even guess when I got this & doubt if even Al could remember - BUT - we weren't in the Shop until 1995 so it wasn't a Brand new concept.
It had a kind of "Meter" in that if you pressed the Button above the winder the second hand would WHIZZ round; to a maximum of 30 seconds.  I forget, and haven't looked up - SO - pure guessimetry follows.  Each 5 (or 10) second, can't remember, indicated a day's working.  If it dropped to the hand jumping in two second leaps it was at the end of its power.
SO - Having found the winder/turner I changed watches.  It's down to two second leaps; I'll now find out if that's enough to keep it going; or it stops.
