All my own work

I'm no DIY enthusiast but I do take pleasure from achieving a task that a more expert person would polish off in no time. So it was that at my youngest daughter's place today, I fitted a half gate, which my wife had bought ftom a local shop when she was cat-sitting there a couple of weeks ago, to the existing half gate. I then fitted a trellis panel between the gate posts to add yet more height to the barrier, the aim of which is to deter daughter's cats jumping over the gate out of the garden and to similarly deter feline interlopers. The job involved sawing, with both a wood saw and hacksaw, drilling and screwing, a task complicated at first by not finding a decent screwdriver or the right screws. But perseverence paid off and I did have my wife and daughter holding the half gate and trellis in place as I got the first screws in. I was as happy with the result, even if it is a bit of a bodge job.
