A Relaxing Afternoon

New Music Works (Music for Interested Ears), one of our local performance/production groups, had their annual Avant Garden Party this afternoon: good food and great music in an enchanted outdoor venue. Marimba, Moroccan, Mid-eastern—quite a spread of styles and instruments over a few hours in a magical wooded setting filled with all manner of diversions: found art, sculpture, a pond, a rowboat, a silent auction, all punctuated by the occasional call of the resident rooster.
