Meeting the Locals

The forecast for today wasn't too good. We woke to the unmistakable tattoo of rain on the outside of the tent. During a brief rest bite we got up, had breakfast and got everything packed away. Lucky the rain never really rematerialise (I do love it when the weatherman is wrong) but the morning remained pretty grey. A short distance south of Burra Firth we came across a herd of Shetland ponies, that MrsB just had to stop and say hello to.

With our later start we just missed the last morning ferry back to Yell, so we had an hour wait or so wait a Belmont. This in turn meant we probably wouldn't make the last ferry from Yell back to the Mainland, so we settled for another night at the great West Sandwich Beach - never a bad thing. The sun even came out in the afternoon and evening. Bliss.
