The Peonies…

… From last Tuesday.
They’re looking divine and are most fragrant.
I’m not really a big fan of cut flowers. (Oh dear, am I channelling the late Elderly One? He loved flowers but, like his Dad, he believed that they should be allowed to grow in their natural environment and not be cut down for human pleasure).

I love flowers too.
I haven’t yet announced to the wider community that I’d rather not receive them (because let’s face it, I’m odd enough already). But, my nearest and dearest are aware. Consequently our home rejoices in some lovely cardboard, felt, metal and dried flowers! Maybe soon some crocheted ones too? But not until the blooming blanket is finished (next year maybe?).

Busy day here. Waiting for family news with some anxiety. (Have heard now, it’s apparently going as well as it could).

I also did a lot of waiting around for someone who didn’t turn up. It was fine, because the waiting kept my mind occupied! I was able to finish some paperwork.
