View of Sorrento
Woke up at 6:15 am and decided to get going early and leave this dusty, noisy camping site. The workers started up with the racket at 8am as we were about to depart.
I noticed that I haven’t posted hardly any blips of the stunning views of this part of Italy, so I chose one today. This was at Piano di Sorrento where we spotted a roadside food truck selling coffee. So we sat on a wall by the side of the Black Knight to enjoy the view while we sipped our strong espresso.
Passed some good views of Vesuvius from the motorway. I noticed numerous fields and greenhouses growing all kinds of plants - beautiful flowers- Gerberas - eucalyptus - oranges -I wondered if it was due to the rich volcanic soil.
After this we endured a 2 hour traffic jam on the way, due to a semi truck that had crashed into the concrete barrier (judging by the look of the damage to the cab and the barrier). After about 9 hours (including short breaks to stretch our legs), we arrived at last at our very nice campsite where we are spending the night - at a place called Il Pogetto near Florence.
