Garden compilation
We were up very early this morning which gave me time, before starting work, to pop out and finish off putting woodchip on the front garden (just one more bag needed from A&N). It was a warm and dry morning. I also snapped a few photos of plants currently in flower for my blip. They include the almost bursting peony, the clematis doing remarkably well on the north wall of the house, a polemonium from Corry Croft, sambucca (will be kept under control), pink foxglove (with bee) and self seeded aquilegia. I'm letting the aquilegia be as rampant as they want to be for now but might start to bring them back under control in the future.
Later on, when we set off for Inverness (there being no through trains on the Far North Line for the rest of June because of engineering works), the weather had deteriorated. It carried on getting worse during the evening in both north and south. I could have treated myself to a taxi from Waverley but on a whim I got off as usual at Haymarket. Even though I'd just missed a tram, I managed a successful trip home, changing from tram to bus at St Andrews Square/George Street. It gave me a bit of fresh air and a bit of a walk. The damp streets and the bus were very quiet.
There are worse ways to spend Monday (and I slept OK when I got in).
