Waimea Estuary ride

Up to a rather cold and frostier morning than we've had so far.  Great day for a ride to a spot I've wanted to return to.  Pedalled hard to keep me warm and arrived at the spot in about 20 minutes.  Time then to sit and wait..............

Eventually, a kingfisher did arrive making the trip and the cold wait worth the effort.  Mental note - next time, take a flask of coffee and a thicker jacker!

There was lots going on and around the water's edge......herons galore, stilts too, ducks, seagulls, black swans, swallows, scaup, kingfisher and even two spoonbills came by (one in extras).  Lovely ride out but oh! so nice to get home and light the fire!
