An experiment!

Today it has been bright and sunny and as I had to visit Newtownards on some business I thought I would stroll through the town square and try and take photographs and appear as invisible to the public as possible.  I set the camera to f8 and the focus ring to12 feet.  So this involved estimating distance and not stopping to frame or refine the focus, but rather shooting really quick and keep moving.  I took several this way of which this is one example.

On reflection I think there is no substitute to looking through the viewfinder and arranging the frame before pressing the shutter; also engaging with people is also useful I think.  Nevertheless it was fun experimenting and a lot of the time it's just down to luck.
