Sunny day in Oban
A pleasantly sunny day today so I decided to attempt to loosen the stiff joints by walking down to the town and back. Passing the Rockfield Centre, formerly the Rockfield Primary School, I photographed this mural painted on the wall, my Blip today. I'm not entirely sure what it's representing, though there is a herb garden out of sight to the right.
First I went to buy a paper, then crossed the road to sit on a seat in the sun, overlooking the harbour. As I enjoyed the view a friend from Dunollie came by and paused for a blether. I was then joined by an elderly lady and we had another pleasant chat. She and her husband were here on holiday from Aberdeen. I then walked over to the North Pier to have a look at a new shop, named 'Oban Vitals'. Mostly 'tourist tat', but also electronic stuff.
On the way back to George St I encountered a lady from the u3a Poetry Group and we had another long chat. No wonder I was an hour later getting home than I expected!
My extra today is this helicopter dropping a delivery from the supermarket - just joking!
Having arrived home we sat outside with books and cuppas, but I eventually came in - just too hot!
