Prickly pear

We had our first walk of the summer in Stratton Open Space this morning, and despite some muddy spots on the trail, it was wonderful. There is a patch of prickly pear cacti on the trail and this one was already in full bloom while those nearby didn't even have buds yet. There is such unique beauty throughout creation.
