Sundowner

Portugal Day, so a national holiday - all sorts of military parades and whatever elsewhere, but we drove to Viana do Alentejo to have lunch with Padre Luís, Ermelinda and Cecílio, felt special somehow. We were meant to be going to Seville together, but Luís suddenly had to do two funerals (folk are buried within 24 hours here), and must admit, we were relieved.

Then, Becca had invited us for a sundowner at São Bento, and to see the almost full moon rising. Too hazy to see the moon, but lovely chatting to folk and meeting Melissa, Florence and Ersin's daughter.

Gratefuls:
- doing the Lula walk this morning; Lake going down fast
- cooler weather, only 20C now at 11pm
- relaxed time with friends we love

Just read Ceridwen's journal, straight after showing Mike the photo essay in  The Guardian about "messy parenting", do have a look if you want something uplifting.
