Honouring

Today was Dad’s funeral. It was actually a beautiful occasion, honouring a man who had filled his 92 years of life well, leaving behind a strong and loving family and plenty of good memories.

It is always on these occasions that we catch up with people we haven’t seen for years, or have never met before. All the cousins (Mum and Dad’s grandchildren) and their partners were in the same room at the same time, which hasn’t happened in living memory, so I took the opportunity to photograph them (see extra).

When everyone had gone home, I took a walk back up to the cemetery for some quiet time. It is just next to a wood which was filled with birdsong.
