Sheila almost bubbles over
I fed Sheila with whey and flours first thing this morning and then wrapped her in warm wheat packs and left her alone while I went to garden with Gemma.
This was the sight when I pulled away the wheat packs and opened the lid. What prodigious growth in just three hours.
Good on ya, Sheila! (She is Australian. Her sourdough loaves have a 'Strine accent*.)
Several people asked about feijoas yesterday. Here Is more information. They do seem to be enjoyed primarily by Kiwis, for reasons unknown. One of the attractions for me is that they ripen in June in my garden, and are the only fresh fruit available this month.
It has been a day of two halves. The morning was sunny, breezy and with endless views. Soon after lunch the clouds and mist rolled in and we are now beset by rain and gloom.
* = downunder joke: 'Strine' is the abbreviation of 'Australian' uttered with a broad accent.
