Poppy field

Struggling to wake up today after yesterday's over stimulation (on top of a busy week/weekend) so we had a chill day today.

A late start, a stop off at the Penicuik Estate so my niece could see the Highland Cows, then a kingfisher-spotting trip - which was very successful, two of them provided us with plenty of action. Then I took them to my favourite poppy field at Polton, only to discover it had been planted this year so no poppies :(

The weather was fabulous so we went and sat outside the Paper Mill in Lasswade for some refreshments. 

An Indian banquet for dinner and then we played Ransom Notes, which was highly entertaining.
