Plummeting

'If you want to know who rules over you
look at who you are not allowed
to criticise.'
- George Orwell

Even in the midst
of our plummeting,
even in the depths of our
anguish, sorrow, regret,
our captain assures us
he's 'a good pilot,
a great pilot,
the biggest, best, smartest, safest
pilot in the world. Probably
the most impressive pilot
in the whole of piloting history.'

But still we plummet.
Sorrow. Anguish. Regret.
How could we be so dumb
as to fly with him?

Incredibly, some passengers
still sing his praises.

Maybe they deserve what's to come?

But those innocents below,
who said no
to climbing aboard,
do not.

But down down we go.

We've all got a date with oblivion.

If only this could have been a solo flight
where he crashes himself into a mountain
and does the world a favour.
